A walk down from the National Trust Centre leads to the cliff edge from where a steep climb descends to rocks and good numbers of Grey Seals. The pups start to be born in November and feed on a rich milk from the mother until they can take to the sea themselves. Their Latin name of Halichoerus grypus means hook nosed sea pig. In profile their head shape is longer and thinner than the common seal.
